Alumni Mentoring Programme

The Alumni Mentoring Programme is a programme that is designed to create mentorship opportunities that allow students or fresh graduates of UCSI University to connect with experienced alumni based which aim to assist and enhance their experiences that are related to their future career prospect.

A mentoring programme is believed to provide mutual benefits to both parties to experience share and learn from each other’s gifts and talents. The mentees will have much to learn and gain insight from association with prominent, mature, and experienced mentors in the community. This mentorship is a learning relationship between a more experienced mentor (alumni) and a mentee (current student/fresh graduates) that involve instrumental and emotional support and guidance over a period of time.

The mentor-mentee relationship will have a profound influence on the students’ personal growth, academic achievement, career development as well as life values. A mentor is a guide, friend and resource who shares their education and professional experiences to help pave the way for students to succeed at UCSI and beyond. The mentor is required to maintain a learning posture in all interactions. On top of that, the mentor is required to provide support and guidance through the ups and downs of the mentorship experience and serve as a bridge for both mentors and mentees. The mentee, on the other hand, brings in new questions, ideas and enthusiasm to the mentor.

In order to ensure the mentoring process to be productive and successful, we wish to establish a reciprocal, comfortable relationship between mentor and mentee. Both parties must put the efforts and work at the relationship to make it successful by being open-minded, respectful and keeping the goals, they have set for the programme. Ideally, the mentoring relationship will be mutually beneficial for both the mentor and mentee.

The mentorship will cover specific information that mentees can learn from the mentors that they are not likely to learn from any other sources. The focus of the topics will depends on the discussion between the mentor and the mentee. The areas to cover can be included as following:
