Happy 15th Anniversary for UCSI School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE)
Dear SABE alumni,
As we are working hard under the currentsituation with the global pandemic, we cannot help but think of you who are nowaround the world working to serve the larger community. Please accept ourgreeting and best wishes.
Since the opening of the School of Architectureand Built Environment in 2005, with our first intake in January 2006, ouralumni community has grown to over 1100. I imagine them radiating outward fromour campus, transcends geographical boundaries in every conceivable field ofwork, marching ahead in unison towards a new zenith of achievement. Among youare professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, volunteers or public servants, thedifferences within our community are united through the core values we shared –a commitment to service, a belief in access and opportunity, the drive to makea positive difference. We as a family has lived this value together through ourcommunity projects and services, and not forgetting the dedicated industrialpartners who have contributed greatly with their technical and professionalknowledge.
I wish to quote Steve Jobs’s commencementaddress at Stanford University back in 2005:
“Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drownout your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow yourheart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.Everything else is secondary. “
It is extremely difficult to stay alert andattentive as we stepped into the working life, please always remember thereason you have chosen this professional education and walked the path with us.As it is always you who have demonstrated to us your passion, strength andcommitment in these community engagement projects we undertake, that fortifiedour determination to continue. I cannot thank you more for making it meaningfulfor us as academics.
Wherever you are, my dear members of SABE, staysafe and if you could spare a minute, let us know you are well too.
Share a photo of you taken at the city you arenow living, and don’t forget to leave us a message too! You may send to us [email protected]
Warmest regards,
Head of School
Asst. Prof. Ar. Chia Lin Lin
